Hisabo (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it.
This Privacy Policy explains how Hisabo handles your information when you use the Hisabo mobile application (“App”).

Hisabo is designed as a local-first, privacy-respecting app.
We collect only what is necessary, and we never sell or misuse your data.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

Hisabo allows you to manually enter information such as:

  • Income and expense amounts

  • Optional notes or labels

  • Categories

  • App preferences (language, reminder time, settings)

This data is entered voluntarily by you.

b) Information Stored on Your Device

By default, all your Hisabo data is stored locally on your device and remains under your control.

This includes:

  • Hisab entries

  • Notes and categories

  • App settings and preferences

We do not require you to create an account to use Hisabo.

c) WhatsApp or External Delivery (Optional)

If you choose to enable WhatsApp or other delivery features:

  • We may temporarily process the required data (such as summary text and phone number)

  • This is done only to deliver the message you requested

WhatsApp or external delivery is:

  • Optional

  • Disabled by default

  • Can be turned off anytime from Settings

d) Notifications

Hisabo uses system-level notifications to:

  • Remind you to enter daily hisab (if enabled by you)

No personal data is shared for notifications.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Hisabo does not collect:

  • Location data

  • Contact lists

  • Call logs

  • SMS data

  • Screen activity

  • Background activity

  • Browsing history

  • Device tracking identifiers

  • Financial account details

Hisabo does not track how you use other apps.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used only to:

  • Record and display your hisab

  • Show summaries you request

  • Deliver optional WhatsApp or notification messages

  • Improve app stability and performance

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • Hisabo uses secure, device-level storage.

  • Sensitive preferences may use encrypted storage where supported by the operating system.

  • We do not upload your data to our servers unless you explicitly enable a delivery or backup feature.

Your data stays on your phone unless you choose to send it.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

Data is shared only:

  • When you explicitly enable WhatsApp or external delivery

  • When required by law

6. User Control & Choices

You can:

  • Enable or disable daily reminders

  • Enable or disable WhatsApp delivery

  • Delete all your data from within the app

  • Stop using the app at any time

No account deletion is required because no account is created.

7. Children’s Privacy

Hisabo is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Third-Party Services

If enabled by you, Hisabo may interact with:

  • WhatsApp or similar messaging services (only for message delivery)

These services have their own privacy policies, and we recommend reviewing them.

9. Data Retention

  • Local data remains on your device until you delete it.

  • Any temporary data used for message delivery is not retained longer than necessary.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be reflected inside the app or on the Play Store listing.
